Pho Republique
Asian Fusion with Vietnamese Roots
Located in the up-and-coming Washington St. Gateway area of the South End, this restaurant is a must-experience in Boston. I have eaten here many times and the funky bohemian atmosphere (and wait staff) combined with the ever-extraordinary food keeps me coming back as a regular. Tonight, Anne, our server, brought out the Crispy Tuna Spring-Rolls along with the Pork, Shrimp & Leek Potstickers for starters. It’s fun to go out with a big group of friends and get a pu pu platter of assorted appetizers, and foregoe the main dishes altogether. Tonight, though, I opted for the Fresh Chow Fun Noodle entre with Spicy Thai Red Sauce and Shrimp. It was good as always. Unfortunately, I did not leave room for desert. If you, at all, like bananas, ask for the sugar crusted banana desert(not on menu). It is out of this world.
About $20 per person without the drinks.
This is also a great spot for drinks and the bar scene is great fun with exotic drinks like “The Monkey Bite”.
