Wonder Bar
Walking into this empty, ghost town of a bar/restaurant made me wonder if I was the only one in town who hadn’t read the local health inspector’s report. (But what do you expect for a Monday night?) I had it on good information that this was a great spot for food and drinks before catching a flic at “The Coolidge”. For starters, the simple “Chips & Salsa Fresca” was great, with a large dollop of sour cream surrounded by fresh chunky tomato salsa. However, the “Pita Chips served w/Hummus, Tabbouleh and Baba Ghanoush” was marginal. The pita chips were soaked in oil. Yuck. I heard complaints nearby about the “bready” pizza (Eggplant, Roasted Red Peppers, Goat Cheese, Olives and Pesto), but my “B.B.Q Roasted Chicken, Tomato, Black Bean Quesadilla” was satisfactory. Later at the theatre, new aquaintances opined that Wonder Bar “aint what it used to be.”
Next time, I guess I’ll opt for Sno Caps and popcorn at the theatre.
$25 per person with apetizers and drinks.
