Tax Day - Candidates Pay Themselves

Thursday, April 15th, 2004

Bush and Kerry made some big contributions this year to the national coffers

Bush made $822,126 and paid $227,490 in taxes
Kerry made $395,338 and paid $90,575 in taxes

Is This America?

Wednesday, April 14th, 2004

Hard to believe, in this day and age, that we are having separate black and white high school proms. I remember thinking, when I was in high school, that integration was a done deal. I even thought racism was on its last legs. Then I went to the University of Michigan and saw separate […]

Review of TIVO

Wednesday, April 7th, 2004

Ok. Everybody loves TIVO… and so do I. Instead of boring you with how fabulous it is, I thought I would simply enumerate the things that bug me about it:

The beep sound effects are annoying (but can be turned off)
Jon Stewart Season Pass records all the reruns
I have to scoll forever to get to […]

Is that Fallujah or Storrs?

Wednesday, April 7th, 2004

Violence once again erupted in Storrs, Connecticut after the women won the NCAA championship. According to news reports:
“Two hours after the women’s basketball team won its third-straight NCAA championship, fans overturned two cars and set one of them on fire Tuesday night…”
Human nature? When my alma mater won the NCAA Championship back in […]
