Reach the Beach
This just in from the dykstraNet “that’s insane” desk. My buddy Ivan (no relation to the hurricane) is participating in New England’s Reach the Beach Relay. This is a 200 mile, 36 stage, relay race from Bretton Woods, NH to Hampton Beach. The race is for total time and takes place over a 24 hour period. Basically, you run your 5, 6 or 7 mile stage, and then hop in a van with your logistics team and get ferried to your next relay point. You grab your winks when you can get ‘em. Ivan will be running three stages.
My friend Web asked me to participate in this with him last year and I declined. I think that was wise, don’t you?
Ivan will be running stages 7, 19 and 31 for a total of 20.5 miles. When you role out of bed on Friday, the race will already be underway.
